About UsNutrition Studio is a private group nutrition practice located in Portland Oregon that provides compassionate nutrition counseling to a wide variety of clients. We serve folks in person in Portland Oregon, and provide telehealth in Oregon and Washington. Our model is based on providing individualized and evidence based nutrition guidance to all people, as well as making support easy to access. We are looking for an equally compassionate and skilled Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) to join our growing team! We are either looking for a dietitian who specializes in eating disorders but who can also treat other common health conditions, such as diabetes or menopause, or a dietitian who specializes in treating complex health conditions but is eating disorder informed.Our values include being HAES aligned, weight inclusive, and very person centered and collaborative. We truly meet our clients where they are, and provide a space where they can be vulnerable in asking for help to manage complex health conditions. Our team consists of a wide variety of dietitians with different interests and qualifications. We provide functional and integrative nutrition counseling, movement coaching, eating disorder treatment and more.Position DetailsPart time at first, with the opportunity to work full time once your case load is fullExpect a maximum of 30-35 work hours per week within 3-4 monthsCompetitive hourly pay based on client facing hours + paid admin time (emails, networking, finishing charts, etc)Flexible hours; must be willing to work until 6 pm at least 2 days per week and ideally starting at 8 am at least 2 days per weekSee clients in person from one of our two shared offices in inner SE or inner NE Portland 1-2 days per week, must have a private, quiet and HIPAA compliant space to work from homeWork collaboratively with business owner and colleagues and have weekly mentoring meetings as necessary, as well as monthly team meetingsJob ResponsibilitiesProvide highly individualized nutrition counselingAssess, diagnose, create interventions, monitor and evaluate the needs of your clientsCreate recipe collections and meal plans, considering the clients unique preferences, relationship to food, access to food and cooking, and any food allergiesDetermine frequency of visits with clients and be able to document progress and make clinical decisions and adjust as neededProvide easy to digest, relatable nutrition education in a way that is evidence based and also meets the client where they areWork collaboratively with clinic owner and colleagues, including but not limited to case consults, weekly or monthly meetings, etcMaintain timely and meticulous records, finishing chart notes by the end of the work day or the following morningUse practice management software (Kalix), Google Drive, and other work enhancing platformsEngage in networking and represent our practice within our professional referral communityStay up to date with nutrition science and best practicesBe open to feedback and guidance from clinic owner when appropriateMust be confident with using the Nutrition Care Process and Medical Nutrition TherapyCreate insightful and easy to use educational handouts, recipe collections and meal ideasFor eating disorder dietitians, ability to implement various treatment approaches including but not limited to FBT, CBT, ERP, DBT, meal planning, exchanges, etcFor clinical dietitians, ability to interpret labs, recommend supplements or adjunct therapies, implement nutrition interventions for multiple complex health related co-morbities.Required QualificationsMust live in the Portland or Vancouver Metro Area and be willing to commute to an office at least 2 days per weekOpen to a fully virtual position for the right fit, but must live in the Pacific NorthwestBachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Science or other similar degreeRegistered Dietitian (RD/RDN) from the Commission for Registered Dietitians and in good standingLicensed in Oregon StateLicensed in Washington state or willing to become licensedGeneral knowledge of Motivational Interviewing principlesWeight inclusive, HAES aligned, and gender-affirming providerAble to work with adult clients over the age of 18Provide highly individualized nutrition support to folks who are not well resourced and don’t have predictable access to foodAble to work with co-morbid conditions other than the eating disorder, or ability to screen for and recognize when there is an eating disorder, then refer appropriatelyConditions you may be responsible for helping your clients with include but are not limited to: type 2 diabetes, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, liver disease, IBS, IBD, inflammation, PCOS, and menopauseIdeal QualificationsMaster’s Degree in Nutrition Science or other similar degreeCertified Dietitian in Washington StateWilling to do educational grocery store toursAble to work with pediatric and teenage clientsAble to review lab work and make supplement recommendations with confidenceJob PerksCompetitive pay with room for advancement$500 a year continuing education budgetHealth insurance offered as part of job after first 3 months of employment, $250 monthly stipend toward premiumRaise after 3 months, and yearly thereafter35% off of high quality supplements such as Thorne and Pure EncapsulationsAbility to take sick days and mental health daysFlexible work hours and days with a strong emphasis on work-life balanceFlexibility to take time off, without having to accrue tenure or hoursWork in a lovely furnished office with flexibility to see clients from home via telehealthOpportunities for mentorship, skill building and expanding your expertise in a supportive environmentBe part of a well respected and established nutrition practice, trusted by clients and colleagues across the PNW.To apply, please send your resume, cover letter and 3 examples of handouts, case studies or other relevant documents that showcase your work and expertise to caitlin@nutritionstudiopnw.com.
