Fire Alarm Inspector
Our client is seeking a self-motivated, customer-focused Inspector with at least 2 years of fire alarm systems experience to join their growing team. The ideal Inspector is organized, professional, and a strong communicator. This role builds rapport and positive relationships with customers.
Responsibilities:
Conduct routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, fire suppression, fire detection, and life safety product lines, including comparable competitive manufacturers' product lines
Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices to operate low voltage equipment
Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through devices such as a tablet
Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule
Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documents via tablet
Make minor repairs and programming changes with minimal supervision
Provide technical training to junior inspectors and trainees
Complete assigned inspections on time
Qualifications (including but not limited to):
Vermont FA TQP
2 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems
Fire and/or life safety systems experience
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, program schematics, and operational/product manuals
Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage
Aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Proficiency with PCs, including working knowledge of MS Excel and Word, plus iPhone/iPad apps
Able to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 40 lbs
Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high-lift equipment up to 40 feet, and working within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings
Strong customer service skills
Self-starter who can work with little to no supervision
Ability to follow and implement safety guidelines and procedures at all times
Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly
Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company requirements
Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes
