Finance Manager
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the company, with a strong focus on construction accounting. This role manages job costing, financial reporting, cash flow, and compliance while supporting project managers and leadership with accurate, timely financial information. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in construction subcontracting environments and understands the financial complexities of multi-project operations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Manage general ledger, account reconciliations, and month-end close
Analyze financial results and provide insights to management
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Oversee accounts payable, including subcontractor/vendor payments
Manage accounts receivable, progress billings, and collections
Review and process AIA billing applications
Ensure timely lien waivers and compliance documentation
Cash Flow & Financial Controls
Monitor and manage company cash flow
Prepare cash flow forecasts and funding needs
Maintain internal controls and accounting policies
Ensure compliance with tax, payroll, and regulatory requirements
Leadership & Collaboration
Supervise accounting staff (AP/AR, payroll, or junior accountants)
Coordinate with external CPA firms, auditors, and tax advisors
Support operational leadership with financial data and analysis
Improve accounting processes, systems, and reporting efficiency
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3+ years of accounting experience, including construction or subcontractor experience
Strong knowledge of construction accounting, job costing, and WIP
Proficiency with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, Procore, QuickBooks Contractor Edition, or similar)
Advanced Excel skills
