We enhance life's celebrations with great food and artful service while maintaining a high level of professionalism and grace. We work side-by-side with local growers and purveyors to bring the freshest seasonal foods from farm to table. We promote sustainability through Katchkie Farm, our very own 60-acre organic farm in Columbia County, New York. We also operate venues and cafes throughout NYC, including Jazz at Lincoln Center, BAM, Brooklyn Museum, Apollo, Signature Theatre, and Wave Hill. Additionally, we have an exclusive relationship with The Plaza.Responsibilities:Ensuring promptness, freshness, and quality of dishesMaintain proper food safety requirementsCoordinate cooks' tasks and schedulingImplement hygiene policies and examine equipment for cleanliness and efficiencyDesign new recipes, plan menus, and execute presentationsReview staffing levels to meet service, operational, and financial objectivesHiring and training kitchen staff, such as cooks, food preparation workers, and dishwashersPerform administrative tasks, stock food and equipment supplies, and do purchase ordersSetting and monitoring performance standards for staffObtain feedback on food and service quality, and handle customer/ client problems and complaintsPurchase food and supplies from vendors approved by the company and monitor inventoryQualifications:Minimum 2 years of managerial restaurant experienceReferences of culinary background requiredComputer knowledge, including ExcelMaintains a positive attitude. Keep a clean and polished appearanceNew York City Food Handler's Certificate is a plusLocation: New York, NYSchedule: Full Time, On-SiteBase salary: $85,000 - $90,000 year, based on experienceBenefits: PTO, 401K, Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, Transit, Safe & Sick time, and FSA (Flexible Spending Account)Must be able to provide valid documentation that you are legally eligible to work in the United States.
