Title and Location Psychiatrist 1 and/or Psychiatrist 2 (NY HELPS), Mohawk Correction Facility, P27116 County: Oneida; Street Address: CBO Mohawk Correction Facility, 6514 Route 26, Rome, NY 13445 Job Details Salary Grade: 38; Salary Range: $310,022 – $323,244 Annually Employment Type: Full‑Time, Contingent Permanent appointment Work week: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM; 40 hours per week; no flextime, no overtime, no compressed work week, no telecommuting Duties Central New York Psychiatric Center (CNYPC) is recruiting for a Psychiatrist 1 or Psychiatrist 2 at the Mohawk Correction Facility to provide a full range of care and treatment to individuals incarcerated in the State and County Correctional System. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply. Perform psychiatric screenings, evaluations, and examinations Order and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures, diagnose and treat various psychiatric conditions Administer psychiatric treatments, medications, and therapies; conduct follow‑up exams and modify treatments as needed Collaborate with other licensed physicians and healthcare providers on diagnoses and treatment plans, and approve treatment recommendations Competency restoration Correctional mental health services Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (HELPS) program if they have: Psychiatrist 1: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) Psychiatrist 2: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN OR Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55‑b/55‑c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Background checks will be required. If you lose the ability to bill through Medicare and Medicaid, you may be terminated from your employment. Continued employment as a Psychiatrist 1 or Psychiatrist 2 is dependent upon current licensure to practice medicine and, in the case of Psychiatrist 1 or Psychiatrist 2, current certification in child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
