Baltimore Based Nonprofit
The nonprofit is seeking a proactive, equity-driven, and systems-focused IT & Data Systems Manager to lead and optimize the organization’s technology infrastructure and data management systems. This role is essential to ensuring our digital tools, platforms, and information systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with its mission to advance racial equity and community-led change.
Salary: $90,000-115,000 + Full benefits package
Reports to: Senior Director of Operations & Culture
Work Environment: This is a hybrid position with some in-person meetings in Baltimore and local travel expected.

About the Role
The IT & Data Systems Manager serves as the primary leader for our technology and data ecosystem. This role oversees all IT systems and platforms—including NeonCRM (CRM), SmartSimple (Grants Management System), BrightSpace (Learning Management System), Google Workspace, and other cloud-based tools—to ensure secure, efficient, and integrated operations across the organization’s fully remote team.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations & Culture, the IT & Data Systems Manager manages vendor relationships, leads cybersecurity and data governance initiatives, supports staff training, and collaborates across departments to ensure that technology is advancing our programmatic, operational, and strategic goals.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, solution-driven professional who can balance
hands-on technical work with long-term systems planning.
Core Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure & Security
Manage and maintain our technology platforms, ensuring system reliability,
integration, and performance.
Implement cybersecurity best practices, including multi-factor authentication, access controls, and regular security audits.
Oversee cloud infrastructure for a remote workforce, ensuring secure storage, backup, and recovery processes.
Maintain IT governance policies and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2)
Systems Administration & Optimization
Serve as administrator for CRM, GMS, and LMS systems—handling configurations, permissions, troubleshooting, and workflow optimization.
Lead integration projects to streamline reporting, data flow, and cross-platform
functionality.
Conduct system audits to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
Vendor & Contractor Management
Manage the relationship with the Managed IT Services Provider for helpdesk support, security, and cloud services.
Oversee contracts with CRM/GMS consultants, LMS administrators, and other
technology vendors.
Negotiate service agreements to ensure high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.
Staff Training & Support
Provide timely technical support to staff across departments.
Develop and lead IT training to improve system adoption and efficiency.
Create and maintain user guides, SOPs, and onboarding/offboarding processes.
Data Governance & Reporting
Partner with the Data Analyst to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security across systems.
Implement and maintain data governance policies.
Support leadership in developing dashboards and reports for decision-making.

Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management, nonprofit technology, or data systems administration.
Experience supporting remote/hybrid work environments.
Proven expertise in:
IT infrastructure & cloud-based systems
Cybersecurity protocols & compliance
Systems administration for platforms such as NeonCRM, SmartSimple, or similar CRMs
Strong vendor and project management experience.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Commitment to racial equity and our values of justice, abundance, and community-led change.
Preferred:
Nonprofit or philanthropic sector experience.
Familiarity with Brightspace, Blackbaud, or other learning/grants management systems.
Certifications in IT security, project management (PMP), or systems administration.
