This position adapts and implements educational materials to students' specialized needs. The Paraeducator II position monitors students' progress, behavior, and safety. Additionally, this position performs a variety of routine clerical and office tasks supporting teachers and other district staff.Shift Details: Hours are dependent on specific position the employee is hired to fill; 183 day calendarContinuing & Non-Continuing Positions: This is a pool posting for numerous open positions. The status, work locations, work hours and work schedules will be determined by the specific vacancy the applicant accepts.FLSA Status: Non-ExemptHourly Rate: $32.06 to $35.91 (hourly) (2025-26 Classified Support Staff Salary Schedule)Position Type: Paraeducator Level llPlease click the link under "Attachments" at bottom right to review the full job description.Required QualificationsEducation and Experience:Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalentIn addition, a paraeducator must meet one of the following: Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university Completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council Received a passing score on one of the following PESB approved assessments:ETS ParaPro AssessmentPearson Paraprofessional AssessmentMaster Teacher Inc. Paraeducator Online Training ProgramLicenses/Special RequirementsPossession of valid First Aid and CPR Certification.Certification of de-escalation and physical restraint training is required for all employees who work in a self-contained classroom. * Successful candidates are required to complete mandatory, in-person training/orientation prior to their official start date.Preferred QualificationsExperience working with students in an educational setting and/or evidence of an interest in supporting learning experiences.Experience working with students with physical or cognitive disabilities and/or behavior challenges or social/emotional issues desirable.Training with cultural, ethnic and language diversity.ASL fluency preferred.BenefitsThe Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) provides access to health care services.
