We're building the team doing it.We're working with a fast-scaling, venture-backed energy storage company on a critical search for a new Technical Program Director to help lead one of the most consequential engineering efforts in the energy transition: bringing a next-generation grid-scale battery chemistry from prototype to production, at speed.This isn't a company chasing incremental gains. It's a team of veterans from some of the biggest players in the industry, backed by top-tier venture capital, betting on a cheaper, safer, more abundant battery chemistry as the new standard for a resilient, renewable grid. The technology is proven globally, this team is the one bringing it to America at scale.The opportunityReporting directly to the CTO, you won't just manage programs, you'll help define how this company builds. You'll own end-to-end delivery of complex hardware and software systems, from architecture through verification, industrialization, and customer deployment. You'll build and lead a lean team of Technical Program Managers, while staying close enough to the technical detail to shape the decisions that matter.This is a role for someone who can move fluidly between the boardroom and the bench, setting the operating model one day, unblocking a critical program the next.You might be a fit if you:Have 10+ years leading complex technical programs, ideally taking hardware (or software-enabled hardware) from concept to production.Have built and led teams of Technical Program Managers or equivalent technical leadersBring deep comfort with system architecture, integration, verification, and manufacturability trade-offsHave a track record of partnering closely with a CTO or VP Engineering, and influencing senior leaders without relying on authorityCome from battery storage, EVs, aerospace, robotics, or another safety-critical, complex hardware industry
