⥠Power Electronics Controls Engineerđ South Burlington, Vermont (Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 remote) - relocation assistance available. đ° Base Salary: $95,920 â $143,880 + 3% Bonusđ Position OverviewWeâre seeking a Power Electronics Controls Engineer to design, develop, and validate embedded control systems for highâpower electronic converters. This role is heavily focused on firmware + realâtime control algorithms for gridâconnected energy systems. Ideal for engineers with deep experience in power electronics, embedded controls, and control loop implementation.đ Key Responsibilities⢠Design & implement control algorithms for power electronic systems⢠Develop & optimize embedded firmware for MCUs, DSPs, and processors⢠Write & tune lowâlevel control loops for highâpower applications⢠Participate in design reviews, feasibility studies, and system testing⢠Support or lead development testing, qualification, and production launch⢠Perform failure analysis and engineering evaluations⢠Maintain technical documentation (design reports, test procedures, manuals)⢠Collaborate with senior engineers & customer stakeholders on requirements and schedulesâ
Required Qualifications⢠Bachelorâs in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience⢠Handsâon experience writing lowâlevel control loops (MCUs, DSPs, embedded processors)⢠Strong background in embedded systems design⢠Experience testing & validating hardware and control systems⢠Strong communication & documentation skills⢠Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastâpaced environmentâ Preferred Qualifications⢠Experience with gridâconnected power electronics⢠Familiarity with: â Gridâfollowing / gridâforming controls â Droop control algorithms â HIL validation platforms⢠Knowledge of standards: UL1998, IEEE1547, UL1741⢠Experience with protocols: Modbus, CANbus, OPCâUA, Ethernet TCP/IPđŻ Ideal Candidate Background⢠Power electronics controls engineering⢠Gridâtied inverter / converter development⢠Renewable energy, BESS, industrial power systems, or utilityâscale equipment(Not ideal for candidates with purely software/firmware backgrounds and limited powerâelectronics exposure.)
