Whether you will spend your day brainstorming in an office cubicle, operating a crane, running manufacturing equipment or troubleshooting technical obstacles, at CMC, you’ll get the training and support from your team that you need to excel in your role and reach your full potential.What You'll DoCommunicate inspection results in real time to the proper supervisorCut, prepare, and inspect samples from all rolled products for dimension, weightand workmanship at the rolling processMaintain and operate spectrograph and related equipment to test chemical compositionMaintain and operate tensile test machine and bending test apparatus to check conformity ofrolled product to specification physical requirementsMaintain operating condition and standardization of two spectrographs and x-ray analyzer, shearPerform chemical analysis of steel samples and physical testing of productsRecord, verify and submittest resultsUse extensometer and recorder as required to enter results into computer system in a timely matterUtilize ancillary equipment (metallography, potable hardness tester,etc.) when necessaryVerify test results against product specifications and support billet heat traceability activitiesWhat You'll NeedAbility to work in non-climate-controlled environmentAbility to work a 12-hour rotating shift which may include weekends and holidayUse math and knowledge of the job to determine if product is within specsMust have Intermediate skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)5+ years of experienceExperience with QMOS, and SAP PreferredCapable to perform the physical requirements of the job (lift 35-50 lbs.)Your EducationHigh School Diploma or GED preferredWe are CMC, a Fortune 500® company at the leading edge of our industry.
