Ararat Middle School to join our vibrant educational community for the 2026-2027 SY. Together, we can inspire the next generation of learners and leaders.POSITION: Beginning August 25, 2026ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:General ELA Instruction: Fulfill general classroom responsibilities with a major focus on teaching culturally responsive and accessible English Language Arts (ELA) within a collaborative, grade-level team.Inclusive Lesson Design: Work in a team-oriented environment to design universally designed (UDL), student-centered lessons that connect with diverse student backgrounds and learning profiles, utilizing clear Learning Targets and Goals.Fostering Belonging: Build trusting, affirming, and positive relationships with students of all backgrounds to foster a strong sense of belonging and community in the classroom.Equitable Growth Mindset: Support an inclusive growth mindset that validates different learning journeys, helping students navigate challenges, develop resilience, and learn from mistakes in ways that honor their individual neurological and emotional needs.Differentiated Assessment: Utilize varied, equitable, and culturally sensitive assessment data to identify each student's unique readiness level, ensuring they are met where they are and advanced through constructive, individualized feedback.Inclusive Professional Development: Actively participate in professional development in curriculum, instruction, and assessment, with a specific emphasis on equity, anti-bias education, and inclusive pedagogical practices.Community Support: Support non-instructional duties with a commitment to maintaining a safe, accessible, and welcoming school environment for all students, families, and staff.Contractual Duties: Fulfill other duties as outlined in the Teacher contract, consistently acting as an advocate for student equity and inclusion across the school community.REQUIREMENTS:Standards Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of the Common Core State Standards and Maine Learning Results.Inquiry-Based Instruction: Proven experience teaching ELA with a strong foundation in facilitating inquiry-based curricula.Adolescent Development: Deep grasp of middle-level educational philosophy and the distinct developmental needs of young adolescents.Technology Integration: Proficiency in a 1:1 computing environment, with the ability to meaningfully integrate technology to drive student engagement and knowledge acquisition.Proficiency-Based Practices: Strong commitment to learner-centered, proficiency-based educational models.Student Support: Working knowledge of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to ensure equitable outcomes for all learners.Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and enthusiastically as part of an instructional team.Valid State of Maine Department of Education English/Language Arts 6-12 (100) Certification.Valid State of Maine Department of Education background check (CHRC) authorization.How to apply for or renew a CHRC/CertificationWhy MSAD 75?Professional Growth: At MSAD 75, employees grow professionally, build strong relationships, and help shape the future of our community one student at a time.Supportive Environment: We strive to build an environment that is diverse in perspectives, talents, backgrounds, and experiences.Comprehensive Benefits: MSAD 75 offers a Flexible Benefits Plan, including medical and dental coverage, flexible spending account (FSA), 403(b) & 457(b) plans, MainePERS, employee assistance program (EAP), professional development reimbursement, paid time off and more!State-of-the-Art Facilities: The Orion Performing Arts Center provides a cultural beacon in the region, offering first-rate live performances and enriching experiences for both staff and students.
