The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.1. High school graduate or equivalent.2. Caring person with a desire to work with the frail and elderly.3. Previous activities experience in a nursing facility and/or memory care unit.4. Ability to prioritize duties.5. Ability to work as part of a team.6. Ability to establish and maintain optimum rapport with residents, family members and regulatory agencies.7. Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Assist in planning group and individual activities designed to restore self-care and well-being and geared to the individual's needs and interest.c. Carry out appropriate plans of activities for, and visit residents who are bedfast, unwilling or unable to participate in group activities.d. Assist with activities according to the interests expressed by residents.e. Encourage resident assistance with and participation in scheduled activities.f. Assist with the transportation of residents to outside activities.g. Document observations and plans of action in appropriate records.h. Maintain privacy and confidentiality of records, conditions and other information relating to residents, employees and facility.i. Perform assigned tasks, as directed by the Activity Director, in accordance with facility guidelines and procedures.j.
