Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor for the Exercise Science Doctoral Program. Specifically, the program is seeking a candidate with expertise in Neuromuscular Physiology and Biomechanics. The ideal candidate would have the ability to teach doctoral-level courses related to Neuromuscular Response to Exercise, Biomechanics, and Research Design as it relates to Exercise Science.Anticipated start date: Summer 2026Responsibilities/Duties:Primary responsibility includes teaching 24 credit hours in the doctoral Exercise Science program each yearResponsible for maintaining a courses' curriculum including but not limited to:Updating required and recommended readingsUpdating syllabiUpdating course contentCompleting annual assessment mapAdditional responsibilities include:Serving on dissertation committeesGrading comprehensive examinations* Service to the program, department, college, university, profession, and community is expected* Other duties as assigned by the Program Lead and/or ChairSkill Sets:Experience with learning management systems, preferred BlackboardContent expertise in Neuromuscular Physiology and Biomechanics 3. Experience with online pedagogy 4. Proficient with lecture recording to aid in online education 5. Strong administrative skills 6. Superior communication skills; both written and verbalEnthusiastic supporter of Lutheran higher education and Concordia University ChicagoMinimum Experience Required:Experience teaching in a Exercise Science-related graduate program Teaching online for a Higher Education program Record of mentorship of graduate students Record of scholarshipEducation Requirements:Completed PhD in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or closely related fieldCompensation and Benefits:Starting range and faculty rank is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience.
