Senior Staff Accountant

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a newly created, onsite position. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of financial records while driving key accounting processes across the organization. The Senior Accountant will own month-end close activities, perform detailed financial analysis, and support budgeting, forecasting, and audit activities.This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoys building and improving processes.Key ResponsibilitiesLead monthly and year-end general ledger close processes, including preparation of related reportsPrepare and review balance sheet and income statement reconciliations and journal entriesAnalyze financial results and research and explain variance analysesPrepare and distribute monthly financial statements to managementMaintain fixed asset records, including capital requests and depreciation schedulesAssist with annual budget preparation, forecasting, and labor studiesSupport revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and accounts payable as neededValidate and manage customer exemption certificatesAdminister the H.S.A. Bank accountAssist with year-end audits, including schedules and supporting documentationHandle customer web portal setup and Motus administrationHelp maintain the general ledger in compliance with GAAP and company policiesAssist in strengthening internal controls and accounting proceduresCollaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Finance teamsParticipate in ERP system implementations, upgrades, and other special projects as neededQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance5+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accountingProven experience with month-end and year-end close processesProficiency in Excel and accounting ERP systemsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExperience in Manufacturing, Construction, or Distribution environments preferred
