Lead Software Engineer
The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise software applications across the full software development lifecycle. This role provides technical leadership, contributes to architectural and design decisions, and partners cross functionally to deliver high quality, scalable solutions while supporting continuous improvement of development practices.
What You Will Do:
Design, code, test, and analyze software programs and applications in accordance with defined specifications and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Participate in design and technical review meetings to drive solution quality and delivery progress.
Review and provide feedback on designs created by Software Architects and other Software Engineers.
Perform code reviews for Software Engineers I and II and support technical skill development.
Estimate work effort and delivery timelines for assigned components and projects.
Assist in the analysis and design of new software solutions in partnership with Architects and Business Analysts.
Develop and support integration points and testing mechanisms to enable quality assurance.
Assist QA teams with performance and load testing and remediate identified defects.
Support application deployments across environments and assist with deployment documentation.
Troubleshoot reported issues, document defects, and perform root cause analysis.
Collaborate with Support Engineers, Network Engineers, and other teams to resolve production issues.
Provide regular status updates and report obstacles, risks, and resolutions to management.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and maintaining software applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues.
Ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field.
Graduate degree (Master’s, JD, or PhD).
10+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
Microsoft certifications, including MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer).
Experience reviewing code and mentoring other engineers.
Experience working cross functionally with architects, analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams.
Experience supporting deployments and production environments.
