Structural Engineer in Training

Engineer in Training (EIT)Join a Growing Engineering Firm Venture Engineering is a growing engineering firm serving the Grand Strand and surrounding areas. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented *Engineer in Training (EIT)* to join our team and grow alongside our company. This position is ideal for an engineer who is looking to build their professional experience, strengthen their technical skills, and work toward becoming a licensed Professional Engineer. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced engineers on a variety of projects while gaining valuable experience in design, drafting, field work, and project coordination. *Salary: $55,000 – $90,000 per year*, depending on experience and qualifications. Responsibilities * Assist with the design and development of engineering projects from initial concept through completion. * Prepare and revise engineering drawings using *AutoCAD and other CAD software*. * Assist with engineering calculations, analysis, reports, and technical documentation. * Review plans, drawings, and project documents for accuracy and completeness. * Participate in site visits, field investigations, and construction inspections. * Assist with forensic engineering projects, including site evaluations, documentation, and analysis. * Work closely with Professional Engineers and other members of the Venture Engineering team. * Communicate with clients, contractors, architects, and other project professionals as needed. * Assist with project coordination, scheduling, and organization. * Apply applicable building codes, engineering standards, and project requirements. * Learn and develop technical skills while working toward professional licensure. * Support the team in maintaining Venture Engineering's standards for quality and accuracy. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in *Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline*. * Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred or ability to obtain certification. * Strong proficiency or working knowledge of *AutoCAD/CAD software*. * Strong computer skills and willingness to learn new technology and software. * Working knowledge of *Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word*. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents. * Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a small team. * Willingness to learn, take initiative, and accept responsibility. * Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines. * Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
