Solutions Engineer

Tangram Flex is seeking a Solutions Engineer to support our Growth Team at the intersection of technology, mission, and customer engagement. This role is ideal for a technically strong, mission-oriented professional who can translate complex defense challenges into compelling, executable solutions.You will work closely with Account Executives, Product, and Engineering to shape opportunities, influence customer requirements, and demonstrate how Tangram Flex’s software, solutions and services solve critical integration, interoperability, and system complexity challenges across defense and national security programs.What We Do: Our team and products provide solutions to enable innovators to design, develop, verify, and advance critical systems, while accelerating innovation that advances our nation's security. By accelerating delivery of critical systems, Tangram is transforming the way our nation solves complex software challenges.Job ResponsibilitiesCustomer Engagement & Solution DevelopmentPartner with Growth and Account teams to qualify opportunities and shape technical strategiesEngage directly with Government customers, industry primes, and system integrators to understand mission needs, architectures, and constraintsTranslate customer problems into tailored solution architectures leveraging Tangram Flex software, solutions and servicesLead technical discussions, whiteboarding sessions, and solution workshops with stakeholdersPre-Sales & Capture SupportDevelop and deliver compelling technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept solutionsSupport proposal efforts including technical solutioning, technical solution narrative writing, and architecture diagram creationContribute to win strategies by aligning solutions with customer priorities (e.g., MOSA, interoperability, speed to field)Technical LeadershipAct as a trusted advisor on software architecture, integration, and modular system designProvide feedback to Product and Engineering teams based on customer needs and market signalsHelp define reference architectures and reusable solution patternsRequiredDESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE/ Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or equivalent experienceCurrent/recent U.S. Government Security Clearance (or ability to obtain one). U.S. Citizenship is required.8–10 years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or solutions architectureFamiliarity with a variety of programming languages and software engineering tools and, to include C/C++/Java/Python/Rust in an Embedded Environment.Experience in pre-sales, solutions engineering, or customer-facing technical rolesDeep familiarity with DoD systems, acquisition processes, and mission environmentsStrong understanding of:Software architecture (distributed systems, embedded systems, or mission systems)Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA)System integration and interoperability challengesAbility to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiencesExperience supporting proposals, RFIs/RFPs, or capture effortsAbility to travel 25-50% Position is located in Dayton, Ohio Physical RequirementsAbility to travel to client sites, conferences, and lab environments.Visual and auditory acuity to participate in meetings and customer demonstrations.Ability to handle and transport demo equipment (up to 25 lbs).We are committed to staying rooted in our core value of Team First.
