Job Title: Product Owner - Credit Cards & Accounts Receivable (MARS Migration) Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid - 3 days/week onsite) Type: ContractJob DescriptionWe are seeking a seasoned Product Owner to lead key feature work on a large-scale enterprise transformation program, migrating US Consumer and Small Business credit card products from the legacy Triumph platform to MARS, a modern Accounts Receivable platform. In this role, you will own end-to-end features across account maintenance, billing, interest, statements, receivables, and lifecycle events, ensuring clear, well-sequenced requirements that minimize risk to customers and the business.You will act as a primary bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, shaping complex Credit Cards and Receivables capabilities into actionable, migration-ready backlogs, and driving delivery through Agile and hybrid delivery models. This role is ideal for a Product Owner with strong governance, planning, and stakeholder-management skills in financial services or payments domains. Key ResponsibilitiesEnd-to-End Feature OwnershipOwn the team backlog for assigned migration and journey-based features, including account maintenance, billing, interest calculation, statements, and receivables flows.Translate legacy Triumph capabilities (e.g., posting, billing, interest, statements, receivables) into MARS-ready requirements, identifying gaps, constraints, and opportunities for simplification or reuse.Work closely with Product Managers and Engineering Leads to define feasible, business-aligned solutions while balancing technical feasibility and risk.Discovery & Requirement DefinitionConduct discovery across legacy systems, existing documentation, and business SMEs to understand current-state behavior and define future-state intent for core Credit Cards and Receivables capabilities.Decompose complex capabilities (e.g., billing cycles, interest accruals, statement generation, dispute handling, payment posting, receivables management) into small, build-ready features with clear acceptance criteria.Ensure global and US-specific regulations, policies, and product rules are clearly understood, documented, and reflected in feature definitions.Refinement & Planning ExcellenceLead backlog refinement and sprint planning sessions to ensure holistic understanding of impacts across account lifecycle, billing, interest, statements, and receivables.Continuously prioritize and sequence work based on capacity, risk, regulatory deadlines, and business value, especially in a migration context.Maintain a clear, well-groomed backlog with consistent definitions of done and measurable outcomes.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with Engineering, Architecture, Data, and QA teams to ensure feasibility, performance, and data-quality requirements are baked into features.Surface and manage cross-platform dependencies, data migrations, and integration touchpoints (e.g., core banking, GL, payments, customer channels) early and transparently.Support migration-specific activities such as scope-by-scope planning, cutover readiness, and validation of migrated data and processes.Stakeholder Management & GovernanceManage stakeholder expectations, communicate trade-offs, and explain changes in scope or sequencing due to architectural decisions, contract constraints, or regulatory requirements.Represent Credit Cards Issuing and Accounts Receivable topics in steering committees, governance forums, and executive reviews.Ensure alignment with Project Governance, Project Planning, and overall migration roadmap, providing clear visibility on feature health, risks, and milestones.Required Qualifications5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in complex, enterprise-scale environments (ideally in financial services, payments, lending, or core banking).Proven experience in platform migrations, legacy-to-cloud transformations, or core system modernization (e.g., core banking, billing, or receivables platforms).Strong ability to translate complex business processes and technical constraints into clear, actionable product requirements with explicit acceptance criteria.Deep experience with Agile and hybrid delivery models, working with distributed, cross-functional teams.Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to senior leaders and steering committees.Preferred ExperienceExperience in financial services, payments, lending, or Accounts Receivable platforms, particularly in Credit Cards Issuing, billing, receivables, and interest/placement management.Exposure to large-scale data, billing, posting, or terms-management systems (e.g., daily billing, interest accruals, statement runs, dunning, chargebacks).Comfort operating in ambiguous, evolving environments where scope, sequencing, and architecture may shift over time.Experience leading discovery workshops, event storming, or journey-based planning sessions
