A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Trust & Estate Paralegal, with a strong background in probate work in both Missouri and Kansas. Responsibilities to meet or exceed a preferred billable requirement of 1,600 hours per year. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, demonstrating a commitment to professional growth and development. Proven experience handling probate matters in both Missouri and Kansas, ensuring familiarity with the nuances of each state's legal system. Duties:Guide executors/personal representatives through the administration of probate estates, managing all relevant details and establishing probate administrations across various jurisdictions. Track estate financials for probate filings, prepare detailed accountings, and manage trust financial accountings from inception to distribution. Prepare and manage probate court filings, track critical deadlines (court filings, claim notices, tax deadlines), and correspond with the Internal Revenue Service regarding tax notices. Assist trustees with the administration of trust assets, including ownership transfers, asset liquidation, and asset distribution; also manage annual life insurance premium notices and due dates for trust beneficiaries. Collaborate with clients to gather necessary documents for tax filings, assist attorneys in preparing and electronically filing federal and state income tax returns, as well as federal estate and gift tax returns, and maintain organized internal records of all submitted returns. Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and ProSeries Tax software to efficiently complete tasks related to probate and tax administration. Salary: $100,000 - $115,000AW
