Food Service Manager
Responsibilities:Manage Meal Service food production, tray assembly, delivery/pick-up, which includes nourishment/unit supplies delivery.Kitchen sanitation required by regulatory agencies.Work with Executive Chef on matters of menus and overall food quality.Manage the production, assembly and distribution process for meal service, nourishments, supplies and galley operations.Manage all staff assigned to meal service area.Assist with continued development of computerized systems within the department as part of the senior management team.Identify and take corrective action for satisfaction issues related to meal distribution.Manage daily and monthly documentation and reporting of service QC and QI as assigned using problem solving techniques.Work with Executive Chef to ensure that food quality meets department standards.Oversee that Central Kitchen in-services, performance appraisals, time and attendance records, counseling and disciplines for assigned employees and supervisors are accurate and completed within established deadlines.Prepare and submit department reports accurately within established deadlines.Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by effectively managing staffing and supply resources.Assist in the development of learning experiences for dietetic interns; act as preceptor for internship rotations; acts as a role model for students by demonstrating professional competence.Collaborate well with the other units within Food and Nutrition Services and with other departments.Actively participate on the Food and Nutrition senior management team and attends and contributes to departmental meetings.Manage department projects as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition, Food Systems Management, Hotel/Restaurant Management, or a related field.In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, six years of directly related experience can be used for minimum qualification on education.Illinois Department of Public Health and City of Chicago Sanitation Certification required within three months of hire.Competent in computer use for managing foodservice operations.Self-directed, strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, problem identification and solving, creative, manage stress effectively.Here is more information:Position: Food Service ManagerTerm: 6 month contract to hireSchedule: Onsite, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm ESTLocation: Chicago, IL 60612Pay: Market Rate
