All Successful applicants will be required to pay for the following to the Board of Education:Fingerprint Background Check $53.25Drug Test $35.00Child Abuse and Neglect Check $10.00You can contact Human Resources for additional information.POSITION SUMMARY: Plans, organizes and delivers programs of instruction in the secondary program that support the premise that high expectations for all students are possible.REPORTS TO: PrincipalSUPERVISES: Students, instructional, and/or clerical assistantsPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Demonstrates proficiency in planning developmentally appropriate, research-based instruction that address Kentucky's learning goals and outcomes for students.Creates and maintains a learning climate that supports student learning outcomes; assists in planning and implementation of program and activities involving parents.Implements developmentally appropriate, teaching and learning activities.Applying basic communication and mathematics skillsApplying core concepts from all major subject areasBecoming a self-sufficient individualBecoming a responsible member of a family, work group or communityThinking and problem-solvingConnecting and integrating new experiences and knowledge.Assists the administrating in implementing Board policies, and administrative regulations, and school rules governing student life and conduct, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure.Evaluates specific teaching/learning situations and communicates to students and parents (documents progress through anecdotal records, student-teacher conferences, and portfolios).Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupil solve health, attitude, and learning problems.Performs professional responsibilities and duties as outlined in board policy, such as regular attendance, punctuality, attending staff meetings, serving on committees, and accepts a share of responsibility for extracurricular activities, in-service education and professional growth.Demonstrates effective collaboration skills among peers, subordinates, supervisors, students and parents.Demonstrates teaching conduct consistent with missions to which school council, local board, and State Board of Education for Elementary and Secondary Education are committed.Plans and supervises purposefully for instructional assistants and volunteers and cooperatively with department heads or leaders, instructional and guidance facilitators, evaluates his/her job performance.Evaluates own overall performance to model/teach; keep learning goal, and implements a program of professional development.Promotes self-discipline and self-control.Aids in the administration of group standardized tests in accordance with the district or state regulations.Develop and implement instructional programs that will meet the individual's needs, interests and abilities of students to include IEP'S of special needs students.Attend staff meetings, serve on staff committees and participate in the sponsorships of pupil activities.Create and effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin board and learning centers.Assists in carrying our procedures in the Emergency Procedure Guide in the event of such occurrences.Performs any other such duties as so designated by the immediate supervisor/Principal.EDUCATION: Employee shall hold a bachelor's degree or higher and the required Kentucky certificate for the assigned position; hold a Kentucky teacher certificate for assigned position through Education Professional Standards Board.
