Microsegmentation Engineer

About The RoleWe're looking for a Microsegmentation Implementation Specialist to lead the hands-on delivery of microsegmentation solutions for our clients. You'll work directly with customer teams to analyze their environments, design segmentation policies, roll them out safely, and provide ongoing support. This is a client-facing, technical role for someone who enjoys solving real-world security challenges and seeing projects through from discovery to enforcement.What You'll DoCollaborate with clients to understand their network, application landscape, and security requirementsPerform application dependency mapping and traffic flow analysis to inform segmentation designDesign, test, and enforce microsegmentation policies, including ring-fencing of critical applicationsDrive phased rollouts (monitor mode → enforcement) to minimize business disruptionTroubleshoot policy violations and broken application flows post-enforcementProduce clear documentation: high- and low-level designs, runbooks, and client-facing reportsProvide ongoing support and act as a trusted technical advisor to clientsWork closely with internal consultants and engineers to deliver high-quality outcomesWhat You'll Bring2+ years of experience in network or security engineering, with hands-on Illumio microsegmentation experience requiredSolid networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, ports and protocols, firewalls, VLANs, routing, and east-west vs. north-south trafficExperience administering Linux and Windows server environmentsFamiliarity with Zero Trust principles and identity/access conceptsStrong analytical skills for diagnosing and solving complex security challengesExcellent communication skills and a customer-first mindsetAbility to work independently and as part of a distributed teamBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)Good to HaveExperience with other microsegmentation platforms (Akamai Guardicore, VMware NSX, Cisco Secure Workload, Zscaler)Experience securing cloud workloads (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containers/KubernetesScripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell, or Bash)Used automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) to deploy segmentation policiesRelevant certifications (CISSP, CCNP/CCIE Security, vendor microsegmentation certs, CompTIA Security+, or cloud security certifications)Prior consultancy or client-facing delivery experienceWhy Join UsWe're a boutique cybersecurity consultancy recognized as leaders in microsegmentation and ZTNA, with global reach and a team that includes one of the world's top Zero Trust architects - a rare chance to learn directly from the best.
