Job Title: Food & Beverage ManagerCompany: Highway West VacationsLocation: Kilauea Lodge & RestaurantFull Time / Part Time: Full TimeJob DescriptionThe Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing daily food and beverage operations during the operating season to ensure exceptional guest experiences, efficient service, and compliance with company policies and food safety standards. This role leads and supports both front-of-house and back-of-house teams, ensuring high standards of quality, service, and cleanliness. The Seasonal Food and Beverage Manager fosters a positive team environment, supports staff development, and helps drive operational success throughout the season.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, supervise, and support front-of-house and back-of-house teams to ensure smooth daily operationsRecruit, train, and onboard employees on service standards, operational procedures, and safety guidelinesProvide coaching, performance feedback, and mentorship to team membersFoster a positive and collaborative team culture that encourages learning and accountabilityAssist with employee scheduling, shift coverage, and labor managementEnsure guests receive prompt, friendly, and high-quality service at all timesAddress and resolve guest complaints or concerns in a professional and timely mannerMaintain a welcoming and positive dining environmentMonitor service standards to ensure a consistent and memorable guest experienceOversee daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency and adherence to company standardsCoordinate staff activities during busy service periodsEnsure consistent food quality, presentation, and beverage service standardsMaintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, kitchens, service stations, and workspacesMonitor food and beverage inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as neededTrack product usage and assist in controlling costs and minimizing wasteEnsure accurate handling of cash management, register oversight, and end-of-shift reconciliation when requiredEnsure compliance with all health, sanitation, and safety regulationsFollow and enforce all company policies and food safety guidelinesMaintain a safe and organized work environment for employees and guestsRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent required5 years of restaurant management experience preferredStrong leadership, communication, and customer service skillsDependable, punctual, and able to maintain excellent attendanceStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple prioritiesComputer and POS system (Toast) knowledge preferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 25–50 pounds occasionallyAbility to work in a fast-paced restaurant environmentSchedule RequirementsFull-timeAbility to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidaysAdditional RequirementsProof of eligibility to work in the United StatesReside on Island of Hawaii (Big Island)HWV Hospitality Services Inc. is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.#HWV1
