PS&S is proud to be named NJBIZ Best Places to Work in New Jersey (2025).Position SummaryPS&S is seeking an experienced Gas Utility Project Manager / Engineer to join our Cherry Hill, NJ office; however, the candidate could possibly work from our Wall or Warren offices. This position is ideal for a technically strong utility professional who can lead projects through all phases of design and delivery while managing schedules, budgets, and client expectations.In this role, you will oversee multi-disciplinary project teams, provide technical leadership and QA/QC oversight, and ensure successful execution of gas utility infrastructure projects that support safe, reliable service for our clients and communities.Key ResponsibilitiesLead gas utility projects from kickoff through completion, ensuring delivery on schedule, within scope, and within budgetOversee day-to-day project execution while ensuring compliance with client standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practicesServe as the primary point of contact for internal teams, clients, and external stakeholdersDevelop and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource plansProvide technical direction and mentorship to junior designers, engineers, and support staffCoordinate and perform QA/QC reviews of engineering deliverablesPrepare and present project status updates, including identification of risks and mitigation strategiesReview, interpret, and troubleshoot design plans for linear utility infrastructure projectsAssist with preparing and submitting federal, state, county, and municipal permit applicationsPromote a collaborative, high-performance team environment focused on quality, accountability, and continuous improvementQualifications & RequirementsMinimum 5+ years of experience in distribution natural gas utility engineering and/or designBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related disciplineProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferredDemonstrated project management experience, including planning, tracking, coordination, and deliveryPrior supervisory or team leadership experience strongly preferredProficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D) requiredStrong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office; MS Project experience is a plusStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environmentWillingness to use your own vehicle to drive to project sites within NJ and occasionally work outside traditional hours when neededAbility to communicate and coordinate with internal leadership and external stakeholders including clients and agencies, etc.What We OfferOpportunity to work on meaningful, real-world infrastructure projects that support safe and reliable energy delivery.We will encourage you to grow and develop your career with us through our career mapping, ongoing training, and career development program.We foster a collaborative team culture that values technical excellence and continuous learning.We give you the flexibility needed to do your best work with several work options including hybrid, on-site, and remote on some occasions.We offer competitive compensation along with an expansive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision benefits, life insurance, 401(k), tuition reimbursement and more.Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, credentials, internal equity, market data, and geographic location.No recruiters or agencies please.Candidates must be based in the United States and must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship.PS&S, LLC is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.
