To protect people, property and the environment from technology-related risks; we drive consumer protection, digital transformation, sustainable development, and urbanization.Tasks/AufgabenField Evaluation Engineer / Electrical Inspector (TUV SUD America, Inc.; Wakefield, MA): Duties and responsibilities: The Field Evaluation Engineer/Electrical Inspector role will focus on testing and inspection of our clients' field installed equipment, working on client projects related to electrical equipment and machinery. The role is responsible for completing all aspects of regulatory compliance testing and reporting on client products using ANSI/NFPA/UL standards. The Field Evaluation Engineer/Electrical Inspector will use experience and expertise to perform testing and inspection at vendor locations within North America. The role will ensure compliance with accreditation requirements, company- and client-specific policies and procedures, and other standards as required. In addition, the role will submit required deliverables that fully comply with all testing requirements by assignment deadlines. Specific responsibilities include: Conducting Field Labelling Evaluations in accordance with TUV SUD program requirements, and interpreting and applying applicable test standards; Reviewing pre-evaluation documents to understand objectives of assignment prior to start of service; Reporting and tracking defects found during testing, recording test data, technical information, and other details, and generating and revising test documents and reports (including SOPs, datasheets, and methods); Liaising with other staff to ensure consistency and accuracy of methods and interpretations; Participating in and promoting process improvements, and participating in creating and evaluating new product test requirements and test strategies; Effectively scheduling and executing assigned evaluation; Providing travel and expense cost estimates as requested; Submitting time, travel, and expense costs in a timely manner; Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with customers, and executing all work with a professional manner. Based at HQ: 401 Edgewater Place, Suite 500, Wakefield, MA 01880; telecommuting is allowed pursuant to company policy. Frequent domestic and occasional international travel is required to visit North American client sites. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor s Degree or foreign equivalent in electrical or electronics engineering or related field; and 2 years of directly related inspection and test experience evaluating products in accordance with ANSI/NFPA/UL standards.Must have: Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks while meeting deadlines; Demonstrated knowledge of US electrical regulatory standards and code requirements; Demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills; Demonstrated strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and active listening skills, and solid technical writing skills; Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers and effectively work with external and internal project teams; Demonstrated strong engineering knowledge and understanding of testing requirements, manufacturing processes, drawings, and standards; and Demonstrated working knowledge of US and International standards including UL61010-1, UL60601-1, IEC 61000-4-5, UL62368-1, UL60950-1, and other North American standards.
