This role bridges equipment-level control logic and regulatory grid code requirements across PCS, BESS, generators, and auxiliary systems, ensuring safe, deterministic, and compliant operation under all operating conditions.Key ResponsibilitiesImplement unit-level control logic for PCS, BESS, generators, SSTs, and balance-of-plant equipmentDevelop startup, shutdown, fault handling, and recovery sequences with deterministic behaviorImplement grid-code required functions including voltage control, frequency response, LVRT/HVRT, and protection coordinationDevelop and tune GFL and GFM control modes including active/reactive power control and ramp-rate limitsImplement local safety limits, interlocks, fallback logic, and protective functionsEnsure proper prioritization and coordination of commands between unit controllers, real-time controllers, and EMSValidate control firmware through simulation, SIL, HIL, factory testing, and field commissioning supportSupport certification, type testing, and utility or regulatory compliance demonstrationsTroubleshoot field issues and support commissioning activitiesDocument control logic, state machines, configuration parameters, and known limitationsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Controls, or related field (Master’s preferred)3–7+ years of experience in control firmware implementation for PCS, inverters, or unit controllersStrong understanding of inverter-based resource behavior and utility grid codesExperience with PLCs, embedded controllers, or real-time control platformsFamiliarity with dynamic simulation and validation tools such as PSCAD or equivalentStrong debugging, system integration, and cross-functional collaboration skillsAdditional RequirementsProfessional working proficiency in English; additional languages are a plusStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesExcellent communication and documentation skillsAbility to work across global, cross-functional engineering teams
