Compass Systems' automated conveyance systems are relied upon by leading global customers within the automotive; pulp, paper, agriculture, heavy manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, material converting and other attractive end markets.Role specification for Sales Application Engineer:This person will be primarily responsible for providing technical support in the form of system design and generating project quotations for our sales representatives, external customers and sales staff. This is a full-time role and will be reporting to the PPC Sales Manager. This role will work out of the Compass Systems Headquarters in Barberton, OH.Duties and Responsibilities:Work with sales representatives, external customers, and internal engineering teams to design engineered solutions that meet customers' unique needsDevelop and prepare quotations by reviewing plans, system schematics, customer specifications, and other customer documentsWork with outside vendors to develop system designsDraw up or propose changes in equipment, processes, or use of products which would result in cost reduction or improvement in operationsPrepare sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends.Travel with sales representative and/or to customer sites as necessaryEducation and Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline from an accredited four-year college or university2 or more years of related experienceA combination of education & experience may be considered in lieu of degreeComfortable in an entrepreneurial environment / self-starterExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational, planning, and leadership skillsStrong mechanical aptitudeProject management and analytical skillsA working knowledge of Autodesk InventorKnowledge of mechanical and electrical design and calculationsKnowledge of pneumatics, including volumetric flow rate and pressure, is helpfulRequires knowledge of systems and software necessary to perform job function such as JobBoss(ERP System), MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and PowerPointPreferred: Automotive and/or Paper Industry experienceMechanical aptitudeAbility to read engineering printsExperience with Pneumatic & Mechanical conveyors, Fans and Pressure Blowers, Diverters and Loadout Systems, Dust Collection Systems, BalersWhy a Career with Compass:Growing organizationCutting edge technologyCollaborative work environmentBenefits include PTO / Medical / Dental / Vision / 401k / Education Reimbursement9/80 Work week (every other Friday off)Compass Systems and Sales is an Equal Opportunity Employer
