8:15 AM 3:45 PM
4 days per week
Pay: Class V: $19.99 - $27.11 Per Hour
Benefits: Due to the length of the assignment it is not eligible for benefits
Position Summary
The SLAM Site Lead is responsible for the overall daily leadership and operation of the SLAM summer program site. This role ensures a safe, organized, and engaging experience for elementary participants by supervising staff, overseeing program logistics, supporting behavior management, and maintaining strong communication with families, vendors, and district partners.
Required Experience / Qualifications:
High school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred
Experience working with elementary school-age youth in a school, camp, recreation, or youth program setting
Previous supervisory or team lead experience
Experience using Eleyo (registration/program management system) preferred
Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple program components in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with staff, families, and community partners
Experience with behavior support and implementing student expectations in youth programming settings preferred
Responsibilities
Provide overall daily supervision of the SLAM program site, including monitoring camps, activities, and transitions
Delegate responsibilities to Activities Assistants and other staff to support smooth program implementation
Ensure high-quality, engaging, and age-appropriate programming is in place throughout the day
Supervise, mentor, and support program staff by providing direction, coaching, and day-to-day guidance
Coordinate daily site logistics, including room usage, activity flow, materials, and schedule adjustments as needed
Support program setup and ensure spaces are organized, safe, and ready for participants and vendors
Implement behavior expectations and appropriate consequences for student misconduct in alignment with Bloomington Community Education guidelines
Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student behavior, concerns, and program updates as needed
Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, youth, building staff, district staff, community members, and partner vendors
Serve as the primary on-site representative of SLAM / Bloomington Community Education within the school building and throughout the district
Support attendance tracking, documentation, and other program-related paperwork as assigned
Use program systems (including Eleyo, as applicable) to support rosters, participant information, and daily operations
Respond to day-to-day challenges with professionalism, flexibility, and sound judgment
Complete other duties as assigned by Bloomington Community Education leadership
