We truly believe in the value you bring to our organization.Position overviewThe candidate will serve as the principal advisor to the Information System Owner (SO) and Information System Security Manager (ISSM) on all matters, technical and otherwise, involving the security of an information system. The candidate is responsible for ensuring the implementation and maintenance of security controls in accordance with the NIST 800-53 and EOUSA policies.Must be U.S. CitizenOnsite in Washington, DC or Columbia, SCMust be able to obtain a Public Trust clearanceJCAM & CSAM is preferrableKey responsibilitiesPrepare, review, and update system authorization packages in Cyber Security Assessment and Management (CSAM)Conduct continuous monitoring activities for agency systems, including internal systems and FedRAMP systemsImplement and maintain system procedures and documentationDevelop control implementation statements and conduct annual self-controls assessmentsManage Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) review processesPerform regular audit log reviews and vulnerability scan reviews according to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) requirementsConduct Security Impact Analysis (SIA), Risk Assessments, Risk Based Acceptance, and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) Reviews when changes occur that might affect system authorization determinationCoordinate any changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware with Project Managers, Security Officer and System Owner prior to implementationPerform security-related documentation, vulnerability scan review, assessment support, patch management, and auditing as requiredTechnical Experience & KnowledgeStrong knowledge of NIST 800-53 security controls and implementationExperience with Cyber Security Assessment and Management (CSAM) systemsProficiency in conducting security assessments, risk analysis, and vulnerability managementFamiliarity with FedRAMP compliance requirementsStrong documentation and technical writing skillsAbility to coordinate with multiple stakeholders across technical and management rolesExperience with security monitoring tools and vulnerability scanning systemsKnowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)Preferred QualificationsAssociate degree in computer science or networking; or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA); or 4 years supporting network infrastructure in a complex, multi-site environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlinesClose attention to detail and commitment to operational excellenceWho You AreYou are energized when faced with complex technical challenges and diligently work to identify creative solutions that address these issues effectively.
