Job Description Our organization is on the lookout for a dedicated full-time Thoracic Surgeon to become a vital part of our Johnson Family Cancer Center team situated in Muskegon, Michigan.Practice Highlights:At the Johnson Family Cancer Center, we offer comprehensive and compassionate care tailored to the individual needs of each patient, leveraging the latest advancements in medical technology and therapies.This center is an integral part of the Cancer Network of West Michigan, a collaboration between our organization and University of Michigan Health-West, aimed at delivering extensive cancer care throughout the Grand Rapids Metropolitan area, Muskegon, and the scenic West Michigan lakeshore.The Thoracic Surgeon will work in close partnership with multidisciplinary teams, including Radiation and Medical Oncologists, Pulmonologists, and Gastroenterologists, to ensure seamless and thorough patient care. Our support team comprises Nurse Navigators, Social Workers, Dietitians, Financial Counselors, and Advanced Practice Providers.This role involves performing a diverse array of thoracic surgical procedures, with a particular focus on lung and esophageal surgeries, emphasizing Robotic-Assisted Thoracic Surgery.The Thoracic Surgeon will collaborate with colleagues at the Trinity Health Lacks Cancer Center and University of Michigan Health-West Cancer Center, as well as the Cardiothoracic Surgery team.This position will play a key role in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing surgical outcomes, ensuring patient safety, and improving overall healthcare delivery.The Oncology program is a cornerstone service line within our organization, and through the Cancer Network of West Michigan, it is undergoing expansion with investments in facilities, equipment, and program development.Qualifications:Candidates must be board certified in their specialty or board eligible, with the expectation of achieving board certification within two years of eligibility.A valid State of Michigan medical license is required upon employment.Possession of a DEA license is necessary.BLS Certification is required, along with ongoing recertification.This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified Thoracic Surgeon to join our team at the organization.RECRUITMENT PACKAGEAs a provider employed by our organization, you can expect the following benefits:Competitive salarySigning bonusRelocation assistanceComprehensive full-time benefits packageMalpractice insurance with tail coverageFunding for Continuing Medical Education (CME) and support for licensure403b retirement plan with employer contributions and matching
