Non ExemptAssignment: All District SitesReports To: Maintenance DirectorSalary: $18.72 per hourJob SummaryThe Summer Crew position supports the Maintenance Department with a variety of maintenance, cleaning, and improvement projects throughout the district. The nature of the work during this period requires consistent and regular attendance. We understand that temporary summer workers may occasionally need time off; however, any request for time off must be submitted in writing to the Director of Facilities and will be considered based on operational needs.Essential Duties And BesponsibilitiesEssential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other related duties may be assigned. Assist with general maintenance, cleaning, and facilities projects across district buildings. Perform painting tasks using brushes, rollers, masking equipment, and spray tools (training provided as needed). Performs grounds keeping duties, including insect control, grass cutting, and tree and shrub trimming to maintain the grounds in a safe and attractive condition. Removes debris from school grounds. Perform custodial duties, including cleaning, sanitizing, restocking supplies, and maintaining safe, orderly school facilities Move, lift, and transport materials, furniture, and equipment. Set up and break down work areas as assigned. Follow all district safety procedures and use equipment safely. Travel on foot between various district locations as required. Perform other related duties as assigned. Follows and maintains knowledge of all applicable District policy(ies) and procedures. Attends work regularly and is punctual. Annually pass the District's required online training by the District's assigned due-date.Other Duties And ResponsibilitiesThis organization believes that every individual makes a significant contribution to our success. Must be 18 years of age or older. Ability to work primarily in a standing position. Experience with painting equipment is helpful. Familiarity with latex and oil-based paints and proper cleanup procedures preferred. Interpersonal Skills: Works well with others from diverse backgrounds. Ability to interact with students, staff and community appropriately. Language Skills: Ability to be understand and be understood by coworkers and community as needed. Ability to understand and follow written instructions such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. Reasoning Ability: Ability to understand instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule or diagram format. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a variety of situations. Computer Skills: Ability to use e-mail, database, spreadsheets and word processing software as needed. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certificates as determined by the District including a current valid Oregon Drivers' license and ability to obtain a valid CPR/First Aid card.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
