Fire Protection Designer – North Little Rock, ArkansasAs part of the Buildings Group for Garver, this Fire Protection Designer will be responsible for developing fire protection designs in support of various Buildings Business Line projects.Specifically, this responsibility will include a variety of projects related to leading the planning, design, and commissioning of:Building fire protection systemsBuilding fire suppression systemsBuilding fire alarm systemsAdditionally, the role includes coordination with other support disciplines and regional offices, assisting fire protection engineers in designing building projects, and following quality assurance and quality control plans.Abilities and AttributesKnowledge of fire protection, suppression, and alarm principlesInterfacing with project teams on project design, delivery, and constructionManaging project budget and schedule complianceFire protection design of building projects throughout the project lifecycle from conceptual, design, and construction phasesUtilizing BIM design software to produce construction drawingsUtilizing software-based calculation tools for design calculationsManaging multiple assignments concurrentlyResponsible for time management and product qualityFollowing Quality Assurance and Quality Control PlansResponsible for continuing education and learning based on project needs and overall team needsRequirements5-10 years of building fire protection design and construction experienceKnowledge base of fire protection engineering principals related to building fire protection designsProven experience with fire protection designs, including detailed plans and specifications for building projects Strong communication and team collaboration skillsExperience with Autodesk RevitProficiency with MS Office SuitePreferred SkillsNICET certification in Fire ProtectionExperience with AIA MasterSpecKnowledge of Federal Agencies design criteriaGrow With UsGarver offers its employees programs such as company-paid professional memberships, company support for industry licenses and continuing education opportunities that foster a progressive atmosphere.
