BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated : Project/Program Manager – Non-IT III (Construction Project Manager) - Durham, NCJob Title: Project/Program Manager – Non-IT III (Construction Project Manager)Location: Durham, NC (Onsite)Duration: 24+ Month ContractAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead and deliver capital projects across laboratory, office, and clinical environments. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in managing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders and external vendors to drive project execution across multiple U.S. sites.Key ResponsibilitiesProject DeliveryLead end-to-end execution of capital projects ($500K–$5M) across labs, offices, and clinical facilitiesDefine and manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and communication plansCoordinate design phases with architects, engineers, and internal stakeholdersOversee construction activities including site logistics, commissioning, and project closeoutEnsure adherence to company standards and life sciences best practicesStakeholder ManagementAct as the primary point of contact for internal business partnersTranslate business needs into actionable project plansLead project meetings, status updates, and executive reportingManage expectations and resolve issues related to scope, timeline, and budgetFinancial & Risk ManagementDevelop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flowPrepare business cases and capital funding requestsIdentify and mitigate risks related to cost, schedule, quality, and safetyReview vendor contracts, change orders, and invoicesVendor & Contract ManagementSupport vendor selection, onboarding, and performance managementCollaborate with Procurement and Legal on RFPs and negotiationsEnsure vendors meet expectations for safety, quality, and deliveryGovernance & ReportingMaintain compliance with corporate standards, EHS policies, and quality proceduresPrepare dashboards, reports, and executive presentationsMaintain complete project documentation (schedules, budgets, risk logs, etc.)Travel & CoordinationManage projects across multiple U.S. locationsTravel as required for site visits, milestones, and stakeholder meetingsRequired QualificationsAssociate’s degree OR 7+ years of commercial construction experience OR military experience8–10 years of experience managing capital construction projectsStrong understanding of project management principles (scope, schedule, cost, risk)Experience working in life sciences, healthcare, or lab environments preferredKnowledge of building systems (MEP) and construction processesAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documentsExperience with tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or similarStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related fieldPMP or similar certification (CHC, CHFM, etc.)Experience in pharmaceutical or clinical lab environmentsTrade license is a plusWork EnvironmentCombination of office and active construction site workMay involve climbing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 30 lbsTravel required across multiple U.S. sitesValid driver’s license requiredAbout the ClientOur client is a leading organization in the life sciences and diagnostics space, known for operating advanced laboratory and clinical facilities across the U.S. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact infrastructure projects supporting critical healthcare operations.
