Contractor Program Safety Senior Advisor

Responsibilities Develop and run enterprise-wide safety programs and initiatives; develop new processes and programs to drive Edison Safety strategic objectives. Act as a lead, coordinating with technical experts in areas of safety culture, safety management systems and strategy; influence decisions on practices and policies to internal or external partners. Analyze unique and complex technical problems and deliver solutions where precedent may not exist. Establish project objectives and manage timelines, risk analysis, milestones, deliverables and budgets; approve tasks and schedule necessary for successful project execution and drive problem solving and issue resolution. Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results; work is checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review of management. Drive implementation of safety programs, policies and procedures for the enterprise independently with strategic decisions recommended to senior management. Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments. Influence company leadership on major initiatives and implement strategic projects. Present, facilitate, and provide recommendations at executive forums and develop materials and reports for company leadership. Conduct training and presentations related to Safety projects and programs at an advanced level. Provide guidance about work activities to colleagues. Minimum Qualifications Ten or more years of experience in health, safety, or compliance programs, activities, or systems. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Environmental, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Business or related discipline. Experience leading and/or developing health, safety, or compliance programs, activities, or systems. Experience in program/project management. Additional Information This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs. Qualified applications with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act. The primary work location for this position is Irwindale, CA. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at alternate work location. Position will require up to 30% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory. This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position – prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining unescorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties. Relocation does not apply to this position. This position serves in an emergency response role as part of the Company's Incident Management Team in supporting crisis response. This role requires periodic on-call reporting during the day, night and weekends as emergencies arise.
