The facility operates as a Level 3 Trauma Center with trauma patients assigned directly to the Surgicalist service and provides comprehensive medical and surgical services with subspecialty support available. The hospital serves a diverse patient population with 58% elderly, 32% middle-aged, and 10% younger patients requiring standard community hospitalist care. About the Facility LocationNortheast Georgia offers diverse outdoor recreation opportunities with state parks providing hiking trails and natural attractions including waterfalls. The region features historical walking tours and activities that showcase local heritage and landmarks. Visitors can explore guided attractions and self-guided trails throughout the area with year-round recreational activities available. About the Clinician's WorkdayClinicians will provide comprehensive inpatient medical care working 12-hour shifts including day coverage from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and night coverage from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Clinicians will round on 18-24 patients daily, manage 12-18 daytime and 12-20 nighttime admissions, and handle 1-5 daily consults while participating in daily grand rounds at 11:00 AM. Critical care competency is required including ICU rounding on up to 8 patients, code management, initial ventilator management for the first 24 hours, and procedures such as central lines, paracentesis, and thoracentesis. The position requires board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with hospitalist experience and the ability to independently resuscitate patients in this open ICU model with intensivist support available 8 hours daily.
