POSITION SUMMARY:The EL Enhancement Program Specialist is a certified educational professional who supports the district's English Learner (EL) program through instructional leadership, co-teaching, co-planning and targeted professional development. This position works closely with the District EL/Migrant Program Specialist to expand support for English learners across all district schools and ensure implementation of program goals.The Enhancement Specialist works collaboratively with teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators to improve instructional practices, with a strong emphasis on literacy development and English Language Arts (ELA) outcomes. This role directly supports classroom instruction through co-teaching and coaching, while also ensuring alignment with state and federal requirements.IV. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Instructional SupportSupport secondary teachers to support English language development and improve literacy outcomes for EL studentsCo-planning with teachers to design instruction, scaffolds, and accommodationsProvide in-class coaching and modeling of effective instructional strategies for secondary teachers in all subject areasSupport implementation of research-based practices to improve ELA proficiency and student achievementProgram Implementation and DevelopmentSupport implementation of EL programming in alignment with district, state, and federal requirementsAssist in the development of a Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program and ensure proper implementation of program goals and objectivesAssist in the coordination of supplemental EL programming such as summer school and tutoring servicesProfessional Development and TrainingDesign and deliver district-wide professional developmentProvide ongoing training, coaching, and support for teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators focused on instructional strategies, scaffolding, accommodations, and assessment for EL studentsProvide technical assistance to EL staff, including regular collaboration at the secondary level to support individual student needsResource DevelopmentDevelop, implement, and maintain a district-wide EL Resource HubCurate instructional materials, guidelines, and tools to support teachers working with EL studentsEnsure resources are accessible, consistent, and aligned with best practices and district expectationsData Monitoring and Program EvaluationMonitor and analyze student performance data, including state and district performance dataUse data to inform instructional decisions, coaching, and program improvementsSupport development and analysis of staff surveys to assess training effectiveness and identify needsParticipate in ongoing evaluation of program implementation and student outcomesCollaboration and CommunicationWork closely with the EL team and district leadership to align goals and initiativesPromote a culture of inclusion and equitable access for English learnersProgram OperationsMaintain accurate and confidential records related to EL services and student progressSupport EL screening and identification processes and ACCESS testingEnsure compliance with applicable state and federal guidelines.V.
