RN - OR Manager - DH - LCOM
- # of suites: 6 Main OR, 1 cysto, 1 minor procedure room. -# cases per day: 7-25 depending on services and case mix - Required Certifications: BLS - Common Cases: Our team is comprised of surgical nurses and scrub techs. We primarily perform Gynecology surgery, General Surgery, Urology, Orthopaedics, Spine, Eyes and Vascular. We are opening a hybrid OR this coming June and we have a Xi robot and a SP robot. We have nursing team leads and charge RNs. -What does the manager schedule look like? This is a Monday - Friday role with hours as early as 0630 and as late as the team needs support. It is a manager role with 24/7 accountability and ownership. -Are Managers required to take floor shifts? - No, they may be asked to scrub/circulate a case in a dire situation but more likely they would jump in to the charge RN role if we had an emergent case and no available staff (in the event of multiple call offs, etc.). This would not be the daily expectation. -What does the on call schedule look like for the Managerial role? There is 24/7 accountability but no specific on call. Like with any leader, we have escalation pathways and often leaders are called at home if an issues arises but no specific call days/times. -Can we submit without the License? (Can their RN license be in process of an IL license transfer) Yes- They have to have held an RN license in another state and worked as a nurse in the operating room though. -How many years of leadership experience are you wanting? Are you wanting someone with larger hospital experience or does this matter? Any hospital or even ambulatory surgery center OR experience would suffice I believe. They have to have worked as a circulator in an operating room and some leadership experience in the way of managerial and/or team lead or Charge RN is necessary to move in to the OR manager role.
