PRN Pharmacist

Job Overview Array Pharmacy is looking for an efficient and competent PRN Pharmacist for our retail pharmacy in Decatur, TX. You will be responsible to prepare and manage different medications for the patients. You will be required to execute a physician’s orders and address the patient’s needs and issues. Your main objective will be to become a people's trusted ally against health issues. Responsibilities Fill prescriptions, verify instructions from doctors on the proper amounts of medicine to give to patients. Review prescription medications by checking their legality and appropriateness. Organize the pharmacy efficiently to make the identification of the medications faster and easier. Dispense medications by packaging and labeling pharmaceutical products. Monitor patient compliance and to limit excessive usage or harmful interactions. Help patients by providing them appropriate solutions and information they are looking for based on prescribed medicine. Provide assistance with other medical services like temperature measurements, injections, etc. Supervise the duties of pharmacy technicians and pharmacists under training. Educate health care practitioners about correct medication therapies. Keep a record of the patient’s history and update it on a regular basis. Comply well with all the legal regulations, rules and procedures. Requirements Graduate from an accredited pharmacy college recognized by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) or relevant field. A valid Pharmacist license in the state of Texas will be mandatory. Comprehensive knowledge of dosage requirements and administration, chemical compounds, and pharmaceutical brands. Thorough understanding of chemical compounds, medical brands, dosage administration, etc. Know-how of treatments along with their side effects. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Liberty dispensing software and other software applications, used by pharmaceutical companies, MediSpan, UpToDate, Lexicomp, DailyMed. Excellent organizational and management skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional analytical skills. Exceptional attention to details. Knowledge and willingness to learn of non-sterile compounding procedures and pharmacist duties Other duties as directed Physical requirements: Repetitive use of hands and fingers. May require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs.), including boxes, equipment, and stooping or kneeling (eg. To pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves, and to file documents in lower file drawers). Walking or standing for long periods of time (4-12 hours) is often necessary. Employee must be able to physically operate the equipment used for the job.
