Landscape Sales & Design Specialist
Job Summary
We're looking for someone who can help guide landscape projects from first conversation to final install. In this role, you'll meet directly with homeowners and clients, walk properties, gather site details, and turn those ideas into clear, buildable plans and proposals. You'll create and present custom landscape designs, then stay involved as projects move into construction, working with crews, subcontractors, and partners to make sure everything comes together the way it was envisioned. It's a true hybrid role (about half field, half office) and a great fit for someone who enjoys both the creative side of design and the hands-on process of bringing it to life.
Meet with homeowners and clients to understand project goals, preferences, and budget
Conduct on-site visits to gather measurements, photos, and detailed project notes
Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the sales and design process
Build and maintain strong client relationships to support project success and future business
Work with project manager to prepare accurate and detailed project estimates based on site data and client needs
Collaborate with the department manager and internal teams to refine scope and pricing
Landscape Design
Create and present custom landscape designs for clients (paid design services)
Ensure designs align with client expectations, site conditions, and budget constraints
Revise designs as needed based on client feedback
Provide design guidance and clarification during project installation
Project Coordination & Field Support
Work closely with installation crews to communicate design intent and project details
Provide on-site support during project execution to ensure quality and accuracy
Lead crews as needed and assist with daily coordination of work activities
Coordinate subcontractors and ensure alignment with project scope and timelines
Act as the primary Rexius representative to general contractors, architects, engineers, and homeowners
Maintain clear and professional communication across all stakeholders
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless project handoff from sales to production
Safety
Follow all OSHA regulations that pertain to your job
Report any work hazards to your lead, supervisor, or manager immediately
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed for the activities that will be assigned to you
Participate in all safety protocols and procedures training that are relevant to your position
Report and document all work related job injuries and accidents on Rexius provided form
Attend and participate in annual safety training

Education / Experience
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in landscape sales, design, estimating, or project coordination
Preferred
Background in landscape design, horticulture, construction, or related field
Experience working with contractors, architects, or engineering teams
Familiarity with estimating or design software
Leadership or crew supervision experience
Physical and Environmental Requirements
Hybrid role with approximately 50% fieldwork and 50% office-based responsibilities
Frequent travel to job sites and client locations
May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
Hand-eye coordination and hand, arm, and finger mobility for detailed work with objects
Active movement throughout the day: sitting, walking, standing, squatting, bending, stooping, reaching, etc. (not a sedentary position)
Vision: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Hearing: able to satisfactorily communicate with customers, owners, and other staff members to ensure that verbal communication is clearly understood, particularly during emergency situations
Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or operating equipment
Work may involve outdoor conditions in varying weather
Exposure to moderate noise levels
Exposure to hectic, fast-paced, high anxiety environments
