This role serves as a deep subject matter expert and technical escalation point for the network team.The Senior Network Engineer works independently on complex initiatives, mentors junior engineers, and collaborates cross-functionally to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable network solutions. This role ensures that:Network solutions are scalable, resilient, and aligned with business needsComplex technical issues are resolved quickly and permanentlyEngineering standards and practices drive consistency and operational excellenceWhat You'll DoNetwork Design & ImplementationDesigns, builds, and deploys complex network solutions (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, data center, cloud connectivity, security infrastructure)Develops low-level designs aligned with architectural standardsTroubleshooting & EscalationServes as Tier 3 escalation pointDiagnoses complex issues across routing, switching, firewalls, and load balancingLeads root cause analysis and long-term remediationInfrastructure OptimizationMonitors performance, capacity, and reliabilityIdentifies risks, bottlenecks, and technical debtDrives proactive improvementsStandards & DocumentationMaintains architecture diagrams, runbooks, and proceduresEnsures documentation quality and usabilityProject Leadership (Technical)Leads engineering workstreams for network projectsCoordinates with PMs, vendors, and cross-functional teamsMentorship & Knowledge SharingGuides junior engineersConducts design reviews and shares best practicesVendor & Technology EvaluationEvaluates tools and platformsLeads proof-of-concepts and provides recommendationsQualificationsKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesDeep understanding of enterprise networking concepts and architecturesStrong troubleshooting and analytical skills across complex environmentsUnderstands interdependencies across infrastructure, applications, and securityMaintains high standards for reliability, documentation, and executionWorks effectively across Infrastructure, Security, Cloud, and vendorsClearly explains technical concepts to varied audiencesProduces strong technical documentationEducation, Certification And ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) required7+ years of hands-on network engineering experience in enterprise environments requiredDeep expertise in routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, VLANs) requiredExperience In At Least TwoSD-WANMPLSNetwork security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC)Data center networkingCloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)OtherProficiency with monitoring and diagnostic toolsProven ability to lead complex technical initiatives independentlyExperience in hybrid or multi-cloud environments preferredRelevant certifications (CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent) preferredExperience with automation or infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Python, Ansible) preferredPhysical Demands and/or Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
