Together, we create the momentum that moves science, brands, and careers forward.The Group Senior Vice President (GSVP) is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall health, growth, and strategic direction of a significant portfolio of biotech clients. This role partners closely with Client Relationship Leaders and Practice Leadership to shape long-term client strategy, drive integrated programs across disciplines, and ensure Spectrum is showing up as a trusted, high-impact partner at the enterprise level. We are seeking a leader with deep experience guiding corporate, program, and product communications from late-stage development through commercialization, with the ability to elevate narrative, anticipate inflection points, and integrate communications across the business. This role suits an accomplished leader who is equally strong in client leadership, strategic counsel, and internal team stewardship, someone who enjoys hands-on engagement with senior clients while also helping to build scalable systems, talent, and ways of working that support firm growth.Job ResponsibilitiesProvide senior-level strategic counsel to executive clients across a portfolio of biotech accountsPartner with Client Relationship Leaders to shape long-range communications strategy tied to business, pipeline, and corporate objectivesServe as escalation point for complex client situations, high-stakes moments, and reputational riskEnsure consistency, quality, and strategic clarity across all client engagementsLead development of integrated corporate, product, and program communications strategies across the client portfolioGuide messaging and narrative development tied to clinical data, regulatory milestones, financing events, and commercializationPartner across practices (media, medical, digital, brand, consulting) to deliver cohesive, cross-disciplinary solutionsIdentify opportunities to expand and deepen client relationships through proactive, high-value engagementContribute meaningfully to new business development, pitches, and thought leadershipActively shape best practices, operating models, and standards for the Biotech client services groupLead, mentor, and develop senior leaders and teams, fostering accountability, growth, and collaborationSupport workforce planning, staffing strategy, and talent development across the groupModel Spectrum's values through inclusive leadership, clear decision-making, and strong partnershipDesired Skills and Qualifications15+ years of life science / pharma / biotech communications experience; agency experience strongly preferredDemonstrated success leading multi-account portfolios and senior client relationshipsDeep experience with late-stage clinical programs, regulatory milestones, and early commercializationStrong background in corporate communications, issues management, and executive positioningPrior experience in oncology and/or immunology strongly preferredExceptional strategic thinking, writing, and client-facing communication skillsProven ability to lead and inspire senior teams while remaining hands-on where it mattersHighly organized, decisive, and comfortable operating in complexityEntrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of accountability and discretionThe anticipated salary range for this position will be $220,000-$240,000. Salary is based on job-related factors such as: years of relevant experience, qualifications and/or certifications. Spectrum reserves the right to modify this pay range at any given time.
