Job Title:Accountant IIDuration:3-6 Months with possible extensionLocationSacramento, CA 95833Work Mode:Hybrid | Day Shift | Onsite as needed, transitioning to 2 days/week onsite in July Position SummaryThe Accountant II supports medical groups aligned with the client by performing moderately complex accounting functions and maintaining financial accuracy across hospital and medical foundation entities. Responsibilities include general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, financial reporting, variance analysis, month-end and year-end close support, and audit preparation. This role also assists with physician compensation-related activities and supports operational finance functions including chargebacks, cost allocations, and budget support. The position works closely with internal stakeholders, auditors, and department leaders to resolve accounting issues, ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls, and improve accounting workflows and processes. Candidates must be comfortable working in a dynamic healthcare finance environment with changing priorities.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience accepted2+ years of recent accounting experienceExperience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and accrualsWorking knowledge of GAAP and accounting/auditing principlesExperience preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close activitiesAbility to analyze financial statements, variances, and accounting transactionsExperience using computerized accounting or financial systemsStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage confidential financial information and meet strict deadlinesMust be located in the Sacramento area and able to work onsite as neededPreferred Requirements:Prior medical group or healthcare accounting experienceExperience supporting physician compensation activitiesExperience supporting audits and responding to auditor inquiriesFamiliarity with financial reporting and cost allocation processesExperience preparing government or regulatory financial filingsAbility to support budgeting and operational finance activitiesExperience working in a fast-paced, changing business environment
