This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a hands-on manufacturing environment and enjoys taking designs from concept to production.If you’re experienced with ASME Section VIII and want to work with a team that values being humble, hungry, smart, innovative, and collaborative, this may be your next great move.Apply today and take the next step in your engineering career in Reidsville!What You’ll Do (Role Purpose)The Vessel Engineer will lead pressure vessel engineering efforts, including ASME code compliance, drawing package creation, 3D CAD layouts, and cross-functional coordination with manufacturing and assembly to optimize production, quality, and delivery timelines. This role also supports environmental safety and reporting for the facility.Key ResponsibilitiesPressure Vessel Engineering (ASME)Review and maintain quality control manuals for pressure vesselsInterpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawingsDesign pressure vessels to ASME Section VIII, Division 1Create 3D vessel models and fabrication drawings (SolidWorks preferred)Create and maintain vessel BOMs in an ERP system (Jobscope preferred)Support quoting and cost estimating for projectsMaintain welder and weld procedure documentation; support testing administrationAnalyze and validate material/component selection, tolerances, performance, cost, and manufacturabilityRecommend design modifications to prevent malfunctions and improve reliabilityResearch and validate feasibility, design, and performance aligned to customer proposalsDevelop and test alternate designs and processing methodsAssist drafters with structural/product designs using CAD/drafting toolsCoordinate and monitor production aspects: methods, fabrication, operation of designsProvide assembly support during build; troubleshoot failures and implement solutionsCollaborate with purchasing to source alternate components as neededStay current through workshops, publications, and professional networksRequired Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)1–5 years relevant manufacturing experienceExperience with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks preferred)Experience working in a manufacturing environmentUnderstanding of manufacturing equipment/processes (examples):Plasma cutting, waterjet, CNC lathe, welding, plate bending, CNC tube bendingAbility to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and technical manualsExperience estimating project cost/budgetStainless steel vs aluminum vs carbon steelWhy You’ll Love This RoleExcellent benefits package (upon full-time hire)Work with a team that prioritizes safety, professionalism, and technical excellenceEngineering work that directly impacts real-world equipment used in aviation support operationsA role where your designs don’t sit on a shelf — you’ll see them built on the floor
