Datacenter Technical Operations Analyst

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Datacenter Technical Operations Analyst to join our team in Winston-Salem NC on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting the operational excellence of a complex data center environment. You will be responsible for assisting with various tasks related to data center infrastructure, including commissioning and decommissioning activities. Key Responsibilities: Data Center Infrastructure Support: Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of data center infrastructure components, including servers, routers, switches, network appliances, and power supplies. Monitor and troubleshoot data center equipment and systems, identifying and resolving issues proactively. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance checks and repairs. Commissioning and Decommissioning: Actively participate in the commissioning and decommissioning of data center equipment and infrastructure. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient transitions during these phases. Document all activities and changes accurately and thoroughly. DCIM Systems: Utilize Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) systems to track and manage inventory, capacity, and performance of data center assets. Generate reports and analyze data to identify trends and optimize resource utilization. Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues related to data center infrastructure. Collaborate with engineers and technicians to resolve issues effectively and efficiently. Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of experience in data center operations, systems administration, or a related field. Proven experience working with DCIM systems. Hands-on experience with server hardware (e.g., Windows, Linux and VMWare). Strong understanding of networking concepts and technologies (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls). Experience with power distribution units (PDUs) and UPS systems. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs). Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus. Other Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
