We support everything from single-office deployments to multi-site organizations and expect our technicians to grow with us.Role DescriptionBuffalo IT Services is seeking a Field IT Support Technician to provide both on-site and remote technical support to business clients throughout Western New York. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day and wants exposure to real infrastructure work beyond basic help desk support. You'll work directly with desktops, servers, networks, Microsoft 365 environments, firewalls, printers, and line-of-business systems used in healthcare and small business environments. This is a hybrid role involving remote support, office-based coordination, and travel to client locations. Position is from 8am-5pm Monday through Friday.What You'll DoProvide remote and on-site support for:Windows workstation troubleshooting and repairPrinter deployment and network printer troubleshootingMicrosoft 365 administration (user setup, email issues, licensing, permissions)Active Directory user and workstation managementNetwork troubleshooting (switches, VLANs, Wi-Fi environments)Firewall and router support (Fortinet experience is a plus)Server connectivity and shared resource troubleshootingBackup monitoring and recovery verificationSoftware deployment and patchingImaging systems and clinical workstation support (healthcare environments)New workstation deployments and office setupsDocumentation of environments and support proceduresYou'll also assist with:Client onboarding projectsNetwork upgradesHardware replacementsSecurity improvementsEscalation troubleshooting alongside senior engineersLight duty web projects if comfortableRequired QualificationsValid driver's licenseReliable personal vehicle for travel between client locationsStrong troubleshooting ability across Windows environmentsExperience supporting small business networksComfort working independently on-site at client officesStrong communication skills with non-technical usersAbility to manage multiple tickets and prioritiesPreferred Experience (2+ Years in similar role Ideal)Experience in a hands-on IT support role such as:MSP technicianField technicianTier 2 support technicianSystems support technicianDesktop support technician in a business environmentExperience supporting:Windows ServerActive DirectoryMicrosoft 365 / Exchange OnlineNetwork printersVPN connectivityWireless deploymentsFirewall troubleshootingHealthcare or dental IT experience is a major plus but not required.Certifications (Helpful but Not Required)Examples:CompTIA A+Network+Security+Microsoft certificationsFortinet certificationsWe are willing to train the right candidate with strong fundamentals and the right attitude.What Makes This Role & Buffalo IT Services Different?You won't be limited to password resets and basic tickets.Our technicians work directly with:serversfirewallsswitchescloud environmentsimaging systemsbackupssecurity toolsreal infrastructure projectsThis is a growth role for someone who wants to move beyond entry-level help desk and desktop support.Location RequirementsThis role supports businesses throughout Western New York.
