IT Asset Specialist
About The RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized IT Asset Specialist to join our growing Data Center Operations team. This full-time role supports inventory control and asset lifecycle management across multiple data center locations.As an IT Asset Specialist, you will serve as the local authority for all on-site inventory, and an owner of systems, and reporting improvements— ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency while helping expand best practices.Location: Fully on-site in Sterling, VASalary: Between $70k and $80k, and includes industry-leading benefits, perks, and equity.What You’ll DoAsset ManagementTrack all on-site assets, including inbound and outbound shipments; maintain accurate records within inventory systems.Maintain accurate records within inventory systems. Contribute to systems, tooling, reporting insights or improve processesDocument full asset lifecycle (procurement → deployment → disposal) and own data integrity for asset records and system usage.Conduct regular audits across multiple tracking systems; identify and implement process and reporting improvements.Solve ambiguous/non-routine problems independently, escalating when necessary; drive root-cause fixes and follow-up actions.Oversee maintenance, upgrades, decommissioning, and disposal with procedural compliance.Create and maintain documentation for asset processes and proceduresParts & Inventory AdministrationManage parts inventory (scan items in/out of parts lockers), perform routine audits, and run inventory usage reports.Collaborate with internal teams to maintain appropriate stock levelsCoordinate RMAs with vendors and manage escalations to resolution.Act as go-to expert/mentor for Asset related issues at locationShipping & ReceivingPrepare sites for incoming shipments, inspect inbound packages, and log into inventory systems with accuracy.Package and coordinate outbound shipments with delivery partners; maintain detailed shipping records and ensure successful deliveries.Process and securely store incoming hardware with ownership of chain-of-custody documentation.Access & Vendor CoordinationManage physical and system access via internal data center portalsApprove vendor and third-party access requestsCoordinate with on-site vendors to ensure project completionHandle RMA escalations and communicate with Operations teamsCollaborationPartner closely with the IT Asset Manager, Data Center Technicians, and Site Manager to align on company-wide asset standards.Ensure alignment with company-wide asset management standards and processesRequired QualificationsWhat We’re Looking ForExceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detailExperience using spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) and familiarity with database systems.Experience with ticketing systems and comfortable resolving ambiguous issues independently.Basic computer component knowledge and strong communication skills in a technical environment.Demonstrated ownership mindset for data integrity, system usage, and process.Nice to HaveExposure to technical environments (IT, data centers)Basic understanding of IT hardware and infrastructureFamiliarity with Jira ticketing systemFamiliarity with Asset PandaWork EnvironmentFull-time, on-site role (Monday–Friday) Day shiftAssigned to a specific data center locationReports directly to an IT Asset Manager with cross-functional collaboration on-siteVoltage Park is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
