Job SummaryResponsible for assessing priorities and using telephone soft skills to handle high priority and urgent patient matters. Responsible for performance of special functions and projects as they are assigned by the supervisor.The Operator Services Unit receives approximately 70,000 incoming calls a month from patients, staff, and visitors. Receives and communicates accordingly Hospital Emergency Codes which include, but not limited to: Blue, Red, White Green, Rainbow, and Elopement adhering to UC Davis Health Policies and Procedures. Monitors and dispatches appropriate personnel to various alarms such as med-gas, elevator, and emergency generator. Dispatches PO&M skilled craft mechanics to appropriate locations in accordance with customer requests and emergent issues using 800 MHz radio, telephone, pager, cell phone and or text message communications. Receives afterhours patient calls for medical advice and pages to physician on call.
