Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Identify the business units key projects. Be able to organize those projects by region, country, size, progress, completion date, project manager and other metrics as requested by leadership
Develop a standardized reporting format to be used by the various internal and external PM’s to provide project status updates at a frequency identified by leadership.
Develop KPI’s for the global facilities program management group and a format for tracking and reporting them to leadership in QBR’s. Examples would be number of projects tracked, total project value, and stop light summarization of individual projects.
Establish strong working relationships with all the PM’s who have direct ownership and responsibility for each of the company’s Projects.
Provides guidelines on the MOA for approval of all project-based contracts.
Tracks a roll-up of individual spending against budget and aggregated spend against budget
Serve as the project management mentor for all businesses within EMLO.
In collaboration with interdisciplinary teams such as Facilities, BU Operations, Engineering, ELT, 3 rd party vendors; responsible for generating development program schedules for key projects that hit key milestones, deliverables and ultimately meet customer requirements.
Responsible and accountable for implementing and delivering the approved programs, meeting defined program goals and timelines. Program schedules are developed with operations and communicated with the customer on a regular basis. Schedule recovery plans are developed and submitted in a timely manner to customer.
Deliver project updates directly to Divisional VP, BU SVP, Segment President and Exec as necessary.
Work with key stakeholders to define necessary capital expenditures, resources and budget on assigned projects.
Assess projects for key risks and mitigations prior and throughout the program. Report and escalate project issues to management as needed.
Track and regularly report out progress against deliverables and communicate gaps and needs.
Become embedded in Facilities, Engineering, and Ops Teams to enable intimate understanding and appreciation of functional needs
Manage staff, as well as direct the activities of contractors and clients, ensuring coordination and execution of needed work.
Facilitate effective communication and coordination on assigned programs between all disciplines, vendors and all project participants including customer interface.
Prepares requests for proposal and conducts all necessary meetings to facilitate hiring architectural and construction management services. Ensures all permits are opened and closed, as required.
Conducts pre-construction meetings, reviews bids, and recommends award of contract.
Provide regular project updates at the frequency and in the format provided by the corporate team
Education & Experience
BS in Engineering
PMP Certified (Project Management Professional) preferred
7-12+ years project/program management experience required
Expert with MS Project and Excel or other Program Management tools
Proven ability to build temporary, task-based teams
Manufacturing experience preferred
Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and process systems
General finance acumen
Skills

Due to ITAR compliance, this position requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C.1324b(a)(3)
Working Condition
Work environment will range from office to plant floor
Remote, both travel domestically and internationally as required (>25%)
Must be willing and able to meet all applicable requirements related to business travel (e.g., as to immigration and visa rules, public-health mandates, airline rules, etc.) into and out of (and physical presence in) various countries worldwide
Must be comfortable working around chemicals and machinery
Must be willing to receive calls or work on nights or weekends
Physical Requirements
Long periods of sitting or standing (up to 4 hours at a time).
May be required to occasionally perform strenuous work. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Must be willing to receive calls or work on nights or weekends.
Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment health screening as well as annual health screenings during employment
Safety Requirements
All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.
Must be able to wear any required PPE, given depth of project involvement
