Costumed Character Coordinator

Position Title: Costumed Character LeadRate of Pay: $18.75 per hourPosition Purpose:Supports and assists the Entertainment Supervisor in the daily coordination and oversight of the Costumed Characters program. This is a seasonal/temporary position not to exceed 122 days.TO APPLY PLEASE VISIT: www.ocfair.com/jobsEssential Functions:Assists with the creation and management of Costume Characters/Hosts schedules, including coordinating routes, assignments, and break periods.Oversees Costume Characters/Hosts to ensure consistent performance standards are met, maintaining a high-quality guest experience at the OC Fair at all times.Proactively responds to staff needs, providing guidance, support, and timely assistance to ensure smooth daily operations.Acts as a liaison and support for the Entertainment Supervisor, promptly communicating any issues or concerns as they arise to ensure timely resolution.Assists the Entertainment Supervisor in the evaluation of employee performance and conduct.Ensures that all costumes are properly cared for and that all costumes & equipment used are handled and stored correctly before, during, and after use each day.Helps to encourage Costume Character’s enthusiasm and motivation throughout the duration of the OC Fair.This description in no way implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age.Experience working and leading a team.Able to speak and communicate clearly and comfortably on an individual level, in small groups, large groups and in different environments/settings.Self-motivated and takes initiative.Responsible and dependable.Excellent organizational and planning skills.Leads by example with a demonstrated history of support of colleagues and performers in a team environment. Strong problem solving and dedication to providing outstanding customer service.Requires the ability to remain calm under pressure.Ability to work outside the normal business day/week. Must be available for the entire OC Fair dates (closed Monday & Tuesday) and, when required for special engagements outside the normal OC Fair hours/days. Working evenings and weekends a must.Able to stand and walk for long periods of time in an outdoor setting during days and evenings.Preferences:Possess a valid California driver’s licenseExperience in theme park entertainment, live performance, stage management, education in a group leadership role or other related fields.To be able to enthusiastically represent OC Fair by displaying a positive attitude, high level of energy, and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the jobPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
