Scope of Job
Forever evergreen, this position is continually open. PowerFlex, an EDF Renewables company, delivers integrated solar, storage, EV charging, and microgrid systems. The Project Engineer II will provide technical support during the detailed engineering & construction stage of projects, be involved in all aspects of projects, and is expected to travel once a week on average.

This role supports projects in California and requires a hybrid presence at one of our offices (Mountain View, CA; San Diego, CA; Los Angeles, CA; or New York, NY).
Responsibilities
Design and engineer commercial and small utility‑scale solar PV projects
Communicate with utilities on an ongoing basis
Stay up-to-date on code and policy changes that impact system design
Coordinate cadence with customers during design and construction phases
Coordinate design packages with engineering firms
Coordinate with vendors and lead procurement of materials
Perform inspections during the installation process
Oversee commissioning process
Assist in project close‑out with utilities
Perform production analysis for PV systems
Assist the Business Development team with pre‑contract due diligence
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil or Electrical preferred) or related major
2–3 years of experience
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Detail‑oriented and strong analytical skills
Proficient in Helioscope, AutoCAD, PVSyst, and Excel
Understanding of permitting & interconnection processes
Basic understanding of financial modeling and incentive programs
Experience with Procore and Salesforce is a plus
Computer skills: Salesforce, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, CRM, and Smartsheet
Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and deliver quality results on time while managing multiple projects
Plan and organize tasks to consistently produce results with minimal supervision
Acute attention to detail

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $88,560 – $108,240 annually. The position is eligible for PowerFlex's comprehensive Health and Welfare plans, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) retirement plan, and paid time off. Total compensation may include an annual performance bonus or other incentive compensation.
Physical Requirements
Remaining in a seated position, long hours on computer keyboard, prolonged periods of standing and/or walking. Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25 pounds regularly or occasionally.
Working Conditions
95% of time is spent in an office environment using computers, phones, and general office equipment. 5% of time is spent outside the office visiting vendors and internal customers’ sites, attending conferences and meetings.
